Description: Do you have a ton of emails in your inbox that you are not sure what to do with but don’t want to delete or archive? You can create “Labels” which are essentially folders in which to organize and store your emails. Putting emails in labels is like putting something in a file cabinet. It’s out of sight, but you can easily access it
To create a label, you will need to scroll all the way down on the left hand side of the screen under the “Compose” button.
At the bottom you will find an option to “Create New Label”. This is where you will name a folder.
Once you create the label it will automatically show up alphabetically under your Inbox lists.
To move emails into your new labels, first select or open the email. On the top row above the body of the email is the Label icon (looks like an image of a folder) , click this and you will have the option to move your email into whatever Label you want.
The email will then disappear from your inbox but will be stored in the Label you chose.
You can also “Nest” Labels under other Labels which is the same as creating subfolders.
