Are you looking for a way to keep your students reading this summer? I sure am! I am going to encourage all of my students to take on the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. It is a great way to keep your students excited and engaged about reading during summer break. It’s simple to sign up and anyone can do it!
You have the choice to suggest this to your students’ parents and have them sign up their child individually or you can sign up as a class. Either way, the parents will have to help out to make sure students are going to the correct website, etc. but it might be extra fun and encouraging to do it as a class. I am going to put it in my last newsletter to inform parents. Look at all the schools who are already signed up across the country:
So, are you ready to check it out?!
One of my favorite features about this reading challenge is that as the students progress and pass a level it unlocks the next challenge. Kids love this! That feature acts as another way to keep them excited, focused, and engaged in reading. Another bonus is that it’s for any age and it’s free!
So, are you ready to sign your students up for the challenge?! Go to the website (previously mentioned) and get started!
